What’s New in Autodesk Revit 2027 for Architecture?

Date

Architecture teams are under increasing pressure to design more sustainably, maintain modelling accuracy and deliver clear, consistent documentation. Autodesk Revit 2027 for Architecture introduces new tools to help teams meet these challenges while keeping projects moving efficiently.

Make Better Sustainability Decisions Earlier

One of the biggest updates in Revit 2027 is the deeper integration of carbon analysis into the design workflow.

Forma Carbon Insights, formerly Autodesk Insight, brings carbon analysis directly into Revit, helping teams evaluate the environmental impact of design decisions earlier. Expanded embodied carbon capabilities, including structural elements, provide a more complete picture of a project’s carbon impact.

Carbon data is also becoming easier to manage at the material level. New carbon parameters and the Carbon Asset tab allow teams to assign and track embodied carbon information directly within Revit materials, making material decisions more measurable and traceable.

Greater Modelling Control and Predictability

Small modelling inconsistencies can create significant problems later in a project.

Revit 2027 introduces improved controls for walls, stairs and design options to help architects work with greater accuracy and predictability.

Walls can now be hosted on other walls, while improved placement controls give users more flexibility over orientation and room-bounding behaviour. Stair documentation has also been enhanced with better visibility controls, tagging and formatting options.

For teams working through multiple design iterations, improvements to Design Options provide clearer control over views and associated elements.

Reduce Manual Documentation Work

Documentation can be one of the most time-consuming parts of architectural production.

Revit 2027 introduces improvements that help reduce repetitive annotation and maintain greater consistency across views. Enhanced stair tagging, visibility settings and view template support make it easier to standardise documentation throughout a project.

The result is less time spent correcting drawings and more confidence that project information remains consistent.
